Manchester United has shown interest in acquiring RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko during the upcoming summer transfer window, as reported by Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Red Devils are said to be one of several Premier League teams monitoring the Slovenia international, with Arsenal identified as the leading contender for his transfer this summer.
Plettenberg indicates that Sesko’s contract with Leipzig includes a release clause that may increase to approximately €80 million (£66 million) by the conclusion of the Bundesliga season.
The 21-year-old player signed a new long-term contract with Leipzig last summer, which secures his position at the club until June 2029.

Plettenberg reports that at least three clubs from the Premier League are keen on acquiring Sesko this summer, with Liverpool also expressing interest.
Sesko, lauded as ‘unstoppable’, has been instrumental for Leipzig this season, netting 17 goals and contributing five assists in 34 matches across all competitions.
The 21-year-old currently holds the ninth position in the Bundesliga scoring chart for the 2024/25 season, having scored 10 goals, while Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane tops the list with 21 goals.
Manchester United is anticipated to explore options in the striker market this summer, as concerns have arisen regarding the recent performances of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee under Ruben Amorim.
The duo, who were acquired for over £100 million combined, has only managed to score five goals in the Premier League this season and have yet to find the net in the top flight in 2025.
United is reportedly considering several candidates for their striker position, including Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon and Victor Osimhen, who has fallen out of favor at Napoli.
